First Communion preparation is offered separately from regular faith formation classes.  First Communion preparation is a parent driven program with assistance from parish staff and volunteers.  The parents of a baptized child who is at least 7 years of age and in 2^nd grade will be invited to a parent meeting.  An additional eligibility guideline is that the child should have completed a year of parish faith formation and be enrolled in their second year.  Parents receive books and guides and a schedule of supplemental lessons to prepare for the sacrament. 

The parent meeting for First Communion will be on January 31, 2013 at 7:00 p.m.   Registration will start at 6:45 p.m.  The meeting will be held in Kolbe Hall.  If your child meets the eligibility guidelines you should have received a letter about this meeting.  If you did not please contact the parish office.  If you received a letter but have not turned in your registration materials, please plan on arriving at 6:45 so that you may complete the necessary registration information.  If you wish to prepare your child for First Communion this year you must notify the parish office either by attending the meeting or direct contact no later than February 15, 2013.  First Communion celebration will be the week-end of May 4 and 5, 2013 at all Masses.
