GOAL:To provide instruction and Christian Formation to children and youth, ages 7 to 17, who are seeking baptism, or have not been recently involved in religious education.
The second part is a series of more formal classes where the children learn the basic tenets of the Catholic faith and prepare for Baptism during the Easter season. The first part of the program is a period of inquiry during which the families meet in an informal setting to discuss what it means to be baptized in the faith, to have their questions answered, and to decide if this is what they want to do. It is for children aged 7 or older who have not been baptized. Rite of Christian Initiation for Children is also known as Children’s catechumenate.
